Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan, made up to 3,000 re-usable face masks to be distributed to its members to guard against COVID-19 raid.
As part of measures to curb the ravage of the Covid19 virus, quality face masks of international standard have been produced besides hand sanitizers by the union.
According to the Chairman of the union, Ayo Akinwole, who disclosed this, few days ago, said the face masks were made to meet international standards, compared to so many obtainable from the public. The face masks were made alongside with hand sanitizers within four weeks ago and subsequently distributed to ASUU members, media houses and the health facility the university.
Present during the sensitization are The Chairman of the ASUU-UI Dapo Okareh, and Secretrary, Sola Omoregie. The Conventional directives of sanitary practices, social distancing and use of the face masks would enhance the safety of its members as Akinwole strongly expressed. More so, he assured of the union’s commitment to make substantial quantities of the high-quality masks available to its members who have actively been part in the fight against the looming Covid19 infection across the nation. The committee amassed its knowledgeable members for this purpose which took less than three weeks to have the ready -to -use materials delivered, Okareh added.
