Nigerian Undergraduates Clamour For Government’s Quickened Response On Schools’ Resumption Date

I am tired of staying at home please. I just want to graduate and get married – Nigerian Undergraduate on Twitter
Nigerian Undergraduates have used various social media platforms to call on Federal Government to approve a date for school reopening as soon as possible. While some express uncertainty regarding when the Covid-19 scourge would be over, several others argue in support for the introduction of social distancing guidelines in the academic system, which they believe would work in line with PTF’s recently discussed resumption strategies
According to a Nigerian Undergraduate on twitter, ‘’When? So, this people want us to keep waiting for the pandemic to be over kenan? Actually, this is not a right decision for us, we are tired of staying at home, we want to graduate’’
Several strategies were discussed during a PTF’s briefing in Abuja. According to the state minister for education Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, who was present in the meeting, proposed considerations were made which would accommodate a limited number of students based on morning and afternoon class division. More so, practical courses would be shifted outrightly to succeeding semester(s).
A Student of the Federal University of Agriculture Umudike, Nkem Cajetan, in his opinion, commended the PTF on its disposition saying that the implementation, would certainly promote social distancing. According to him, the quest to go back to school has become of great obsession to him as well as friends on various social media platforms
